DuneFront helps you invest in the future by building and maintaining in-house sand control expertise through extensive, customizable training programs

DuneFront's training programs are designed with the requirements of a diverse audience in mind, ranging from introductory to advanced and refresher courses. Our training programs are differentiated from other providers through our independent company status, ensuring that our courses provide an impartial view of the technology and processes used across the industry, and our PackPro software, enabling participants to put into practice what they learn by designing and evaluating treatments first-hand as well as visualizing downhole processes. Some examples of courses that we have conducted in the past are given below, which can be held in-house or customized to suit our clients’ requirements:

Introduction to Sand Control
(3 days)
This course discusses sand control considerations when completing a well and introduces the various sand control techniques along with their relative advantages, limitations and application windows. It also covers basic sand control concepts like surface and downhole equipment, pumping fluids and an overview of the various steps involved in a sand control operation. Overall, the course provides a solid overview and understanding of the fundamental sand control considerations.

PackPro Software
(2-3 days)
This course introduces the PackPro software and details the process of simulating, evaluating and optimizing sand control completions. Participants will get practical experience with the software through a number of demo files and case studies to help them to use it in their own projects.

This course reviews fundamental sand control concepts and goes on to detail the mechanisms, applications and challenges of the various sand control treatment types in both cased and open hole applications. It culminates in a practical project requiring students to apply what they have learned by selecting, designing and presenting the most appropriate sand control completion for a number of case study wells
Advanced
Sand Control
(5 days)

This course reviews fundamental sand control concepts and goes on to detail the mechanisms, applications and challenges of the various open hole gravel pack treatment types with practical examples for each. It uses PackPro to demonstrate the impact of changing both surface pumping parameters and downhole completion hardware on the success of gravel pack treatments. The course culminates in a practical project requiring students to apply what they have learned by selecting, designing and presenting the most appropriate gravel pack completion for a number of case study wells.

Gravel
Packing
(5 days)

This course reviews the various gravel pack evaluation techniques available and goes on to detail the use of advanced surface and downhole gauge data analysis to better understand wellbore displacement and packing mechanisms. It uses PackPro to automate the data handling and evaluation process so that participants can concentrate on interpreting the results in an effort to confirm gravel pack success or investigate the cause of failure. This is then extended using PackPro’s optimize feature to compare and match the predicted simulation results with the calculated evaluation data.
